I initially started off in having Legal Zoom prepare and service my LLC corporation in March 2016. Through the whole process, I explained I am inc in Delaware, but my physical business location is in Washington State.

They screwed up the filings and NEVER properly corrected this, even after they agreed they would refile the Sos filings for free, it has been 3 months and I have lost out on several State and Government bid contracts in the several hundred thousands, because I cannot open a bank account to do business with State and Federal governments without my Sos papers! This has caused me so much grief and financial set back that I would NEVER recommend using their services again. I am better off going to an attorney directly when I look at the cost of revenue I have missed out and the financial ruin and opportunities and loss this has cost me! I am a small business and a disabled veteran, I have no means to go up against them.

All I can do is tell you my experience with Legal Zoom, because this will do more assertively, than trying to get them to settle fairly with me for their continued incompetence. I have dealt with a speciality customer service rep for 3 months and to date, as I called Washington SoS, they still have no information on my filing documents (as I sent them back to legal zoom over a week ago, after waiting 3 months)!!! --This has been dismal and disgusting to say the least and I do not know if I can recover quickly or get this resolved ASAP! Just filed a BBB and my next step is to file a California Attorney General complaint/suit to get my damages and services resolved!

I would like to have any and all monies I paid to Legal Zoom back!

This will get resolved, if I have to go to the local and AP about this issue! This is shear embarrassment on Legal Zooms part and they should be embarrassed!!!

I'm very angry! I was on hold for 20+ mins.

I never used the business license.com service they would not refund me. Way over priced. Custerimer service by Dominique was horrible. Sounds like they just read scrips and have no concern.

I will never use legal zoom again. It's a scam!

Unauthorized credit card charges

same thing happened to me, except I recently discovered Legal Zoom had been charging $159 a MONTH to my credit card for a service I had CANCELLED with them. 2 years of charges!!

I called them several times only to be put on hold for no less than 30 minutes every time. I've emailed them with no response. Now I've had to pay off the balance on that card so they cannot place charges to it any more.

Also have had to request paper statements be mailed to me as proof of their bogus charges. I WILL take legal action against these frauds!

Same here so disgusting I keep disputing their charges too and so hopefully citibank is taking them off for me but won't know for sure as they are still being charged.

Even if you change your card number with Capital one they still charge it. *** believable and you can't get the charges reversed.

If there is an attorney on here, PLEASE pursue this as a class action. Legalzoom and capital one are in cahoots with each other.

In Jan 2018 I incurred a registered agent fee of $299. The past 2 years the fee was $159.

I do not know what the $299 is for. Even more puzzling is that there is nothing on LegalZoom's website or the Internet discussing a $299 option.

i have a fraudulent charge for $229 on my credit card from legalzoom and I NEVER EVEN used them! I called to get it reversed because someone obviously hacked my credit card (there were other fraudulent charges on my card from other places as well).

They couldn't find my name, address or email address in their system so they know it wasn't me who made the purchase. im still waiting for this to be resolved.

I cancelled my cc. Looks like ill never get my money back.

Our registered agent service is offered only as an option to our business customers. The website explains the service is a yearly subscription that begins the moment the company is confirmed as filed with the state. The yearly fee is outlined in our online questionnaire, our pricing page as well as the itemized breakdown of charges provided to every customer prior to any payment request.

Very bad customer service

I have had the 2 worst days trying to get someone from legal zoom to get in touch with me about a problem with a will I submitted. I called the number on the e-mail I got from them 8 times in the last 2 days I leave a call back number and 4 of the 8 times my phone rang but no body was on the line.

I check incoming calls and it came from 888 821-****. It is infuriating that they call your number and hang up

It goes to show how much they care about customer service.

I assure you I will never use them again and will let everyone I know about my experience

They still have not done what they were paid to do. They put my order on "hold" and notified me by email. I called and asked why, they explained that I had spelled the name of the street wrong on the application. The word I supposedly spelt wrong was "Springs".

I apologized and while speaking, looked up my order confirmation and as it turns out I did not spell it wrong. I told him that and he responded that the State of Tennessee must have spelt it wrong. I contacted the State and they had spelled it correctly, it was Legalzoom who spelled it incorectly.

I also called them and asked for a status update on June 20th. They told me they filed June 14th and it could take up to 25 days to get it back. I asked them to all the state and ask if they can push it through. They said they would not do that, the state would not speak to them. I hung up called the state, the state gave me my number and said they had sent the packet back to Legalzoom on June 15th.

I asked Legalzoom where it was and they did not know. They said that they would get it to me in 3 to 5 days. I explained that I had purchased the expidicted service, two day delivery. The person from Legalzoom said " you know with the holiday and everything". I asked what holiday, I never got that memo, they were referring to Father's Day.

Now back to the 21st of June after they acknowledged they had gotten my information from the state. I asked them about the EIN but they stated they did not request one because the order was on hold. I asked to get me one immediately, they said they would send an expidicted request the next morning.

Today, the 22nd, I am currently on hold because they did not send it out this morning.

Legalzoom is Deceptive, Dishonest and Very Sluggish

I used the legal zoom crooks to do my LLC on the installment plan. Suddenly, two weeks later, a charge of 159 showed up. Immediately I called to see what this was about. This fee is no where listed on the final invoice. Then the customer rep said, "keep scrolling down the invoice, keep going, just a little further down", there! do you see the double asterisks" that's what the fee is for". *** crooks!!!! In the fine print, but not listed on the invoice is this 159.00 fee for electing them when I signed up to be my representative agents, its confusing since you are electing many things at that time. You won't know that electing them as your representatives is an extra charge, rather, you would think that its apart of the package you are selecting, not an additional charge. Darn crooks!!! I asked them to remove themselves and put my name as the agent. They said, I had to contact secretary of state in California myself. I did, and the same day. I sent in the LLC 12 form, to have them remove and myself placed on. These people are dishonest crooks. That 159.00 should have place into the final invoice. I will get my refund (partial) after the secretary of state remove them in 5-7 days, and put me on. These people are huge headaches. I hate that I ever ever went to them. Darn crooks, liars and sluggish snails. They take forever to get to you in the call cue, if when you call in you select that you are a "returning costumer". Several times I selected "new customer" and they answered the call in less than 2 minutes. *** crooks, wasting my valuable time!!!

It sounds like this person doesn't have the temperament to be in business at all. Their story is loaded with hyperbolic statements about how stressful it was dealing with their own mistake. I read the process carefully, yes, they do load you up with possible add on purchases but it is easy enough to avoid these, a few seconds of reading would have explained the options, I named myself as agent and moved on.

I did already! and I was TOLD that I had to do the work to get them off as registered agent, myself and put myself on as the registered agent.

The bad part really, is that NO one sent me an email or anything telling me they were going to deduct the 159.00 out of my account. I don't like games, AT ALL. Why not in lieu the invoice saying, "registered agent......** see below" why not just place the 159 into that slot? I know why, because the intent is to be deceptive and not transparent.

Without the 159, legal zoom had me thinking that for everything that I signed up for, it was 453.00, but when the 159 is added in, this service that you can really do for yourself, turns out to be over 600.00 and might make someone struggling to open a business think twice, and just do it themselves. I dont care what you say really, especially after my banking institution was on the phone with your sales manager and stated in the call to legalzoom to resolve this matter, " the 159, is listed in a second invoice, AND we send you an email, telling you that we are about the deduct the 159" STRAIGHT LIES!!! I turned out SHE DID NOT KNOW WHAT SHE WAS TALKING ABOUT. For one, the 159 is NOT listed in a second invoice, it's listed way at the bottom of an invoice that says "GRAND TOTOL" lol.

Second, I NEVER EVER, received an email of any sort stating 159 was about the be deducted. That charge of 159 overdrew my account. Anyway, I dont like practices like this, where NO really knows whats going on, not ever their top sales people. And she ended up raising her voice at me, telling me, "Mrs Johnson, I can disconnect the call if you don't change your tone" I absolutely HATED this experience.

HATED IT!!!!!! myself and Financial Partners credit union were just blown away by her tackiness and bull dogs ways, which made everything ten times worst. Anyway, I am getting my money back. I am I mailed the LLC 12 form off last week, and called today, and checked the website to see if legalzoom has been removed.

Such a waste of my energy and a huge frustration when I am already spread so thin. Please everyone just do it yourself. Call the secretary of state in your state.

They were really very helpful and courteous to me, and understood completely what my issues were. Have a great day everyone!

Get Ready to be Spammed to Death

Once you buy anything from LegalZoom, they hound you for services from not just them, but their "partners" who are also selling services. I'm being bombarded by several emails a day, all originating from LegalZoom and I can't get it to stop. I'm already turned off to never use them again and I just started using their service. I wanted something simple and instead you have to wade through one sales pitch after another of additional services to get to a checkout. This company has a complete *** in charge of user experience. If I had to do it all over again, I would have passed. They waste too much of my time.

Poor service

I hire this company to file an LLC. They said it would not take long. I did one myself in less than 2 weeks. I signed up for their top plan only to find they have taken almost a month and it is still not done. They don't return calls and they say they email you documents but they don't. I should have done it myself. These guys are stealing from the public . I am calling American Express to file a complaint. Please stay away from this company. Credit card companies should not deal with this company. May it is time for a class action suit?

They Suck and will rip you off

I formed my LLC a year ago. I had the LLC package.

I found out today, I now owe the State of Florida $553 for annual renewal because it was late. Their lawyers were listed as the point of contact. No one informed me and they did absolutely nothing, even their contract said they would notify me of annual filing dates etc. Also they sneak back charges in and will charge your card monthly for some other ***.

Stay away from this company Highly unethical. Their contracted lawyers and supposed tax advisers do nothing and only offer information already availible online.

Not even sure they are lawyers. Stay away.

Legalzoom started up a "ghost account" on me and double dipped me for 2 years and when I tried to get it fixed, I was basically told "too bad, so sad". I could have hired a crooked lawyer from anywhere.

Avoid like the plague. Thought it would make setting up a simple LLC with federal and state forms easier.

Still fixing their errors weeks later and spent way more time than it would have to fill them in.

Zero customer service despite having bought the "Gold" level. Finally you are paying them to have aggressive and incompetent service providers call you.

LegalZoom - Ten days since order placed - still not ready.

On February 2 I placed an incorporation order with LegalZoom - one which cost more than $500. Since that time the order has been placed on hold FIVE times.

They have lied, saying that the Corporations Office of my home state has denied the name we've requested. I've spoken with the Corporations Office who have assured me the name is absolutely fine. On one notice I complained and was told the account really wasn't on hold, and they were sorry.

I think this is shameful behavior and I want to make sure no one else ever has to deal with such terrible customer service.

I practiced law for 10+ years (and wanted to avoid the hassle of filing all of this myself).

I feel that this organization misleads and misinforms its clients. I would prefer to cancel this order after so much time but so far they will not allow me to.

The hilarious part of this is that LegalZoom is still saying they don't have a signed Articles of Incorporation from me; funny, because USPS delivered it Priority Mail Express yesterday. I had two calls from them yesterday and I am "On Hold" again!

Always seems like I'm bothering them, unless I'm buying

I've done business for years with Legalzoom, but with my last interaction, I've come to the conclusion that unless you're buying something, you're simply annoying them. Whenever I have a question about the product I've purchased, they always come back, "I don't understand what you're asking, let me transfer you" then after 2 more transfers I get an arrogant 20 year old boy who gets off by shutting me down.

You'd think that after spending thousands of dollars for their service that they would stop being so condescending, but alas, no.

My reco? Go somewhere else, they just want your money.

I have never dealt with such poor customer service! They call you with a problem, then when you answer, they ask why you have called, and they put you on hold. I was delayed 7 months with unnecessary delays and finally canceled everything. I believe they are a fraudulent organization, not what they advertise. Stay away and do it right elsewhere!
